Robin Nixon - Freelance Writer, Programmer and Web Developer

Robin Nixon, writer, programmer and web developer My first job in computing (in the early 1980s) was designing communication systems for disabled people. These comprised simple input devices (with sometimes only a single key) and smart software to interpret them.
Later on I moved into publishing and worked for many of the UK's top computer magazines where I had assorted roles ranging from Editorial Assistant, through Deputy Editor, Features Editor, Promotions Coordinator and Cover Disc

News: My latest book is published this July. If you want to learn about any of PHP, MySQL or JavaScript, then it has everything you need to know.
Editor.
With the Internet's coming of age I started two companies: one in Ashford, Kent (UK), and the other in Pasadena, California (US). Among other projects the UK company broadcast the world's first fully licensed Internet radio station, while The US company specialised more in e-commerce and database back-ends.
I am also the author of three books on computing and several publications for companies such as the UK's Channel 4 TV and the Department of Trade and Industry (now called the Department for Business).
I have been featured on a number of TV and radio programs (both in the UK and the US) and currently work as a freelance author and developer. As well as producing regular features for top UK computer magazines I'm currently writing one book for McGraw Hill to be published in 2010, as well as another for O'Reilly, also for publication in 2010.
