I learned a great deal from launching my Personal Information Manager, Friday, as a Shareware program, and making a reasonable amount of money, even though users were only asked to send in payment to register it. (I estimated that 95% of my users never paid a penny - that's the downside of Shareware). So my next product was properly developed and marketed by myself and programmers I hired across a range of the most popular platforms of the day. That is, anywhere users were likely to use their micro for writing, because the product was Keyword, a computerised thesaurus.
